Water to Grow has released an important enhancement to irrigation control, introducing improved master valve functionality designed to support pump protection, pressure stability, and simpler system management.
This update allows a master valve to operate automatically in sync with irrigation programmes, helping ensure smoother system operation and reducing the risk of pressure-related issues.

Why This Matters
Maintaining stable pressure across irrigation systems can be challenging - especially where multiple zones or longer pipelines are involved.
Unstable pressure can lead to:
-
Pump cycling or dropout
-
Air entering pipelines
-
Increased equipment wear
-
Inconsistent irrigation performance
The new Master Valve Controller functionality helps address these challenges by coordinating valve operation automatically with irrigation scheduling.
Automatic Programme Synchronisation
When configured as a Master Valve Controller:
-
The valve opens and closes automatically in line with irrigation programmes
-
Timing is calculated automatically from sprinkler or zone cycles
-
No separate valve scheduling is required
This simplifies setup while helping protect pumps, pipelines, and infrastructure.
Designed for Real Irrigation Conditions
The enhancement supports both:
-
Scheduled irrigation programmes
-
Continuous or rolling irrigation programmes
It also includes configurable timing offsets to ensure water always has somewhere to flow when valves operate - helping reduce pressure spikes and improving overall system stability.

Benefits for Farmers
-
More stable irrigation performance
-
Improved pump and infrastructure protection
-
Reduced risk of pressure-related faults
-
Automated operation with minimal intervention
Benefits for Installers
-
Greater system design flexibility
-
Simplified configuration logic
-
Improved reliability in complex irrigation systems
-
Reduced troubleshooting related to pressure issues
